Confident we could stump even veteran formulators and ever generous with premium ingredients, we believed creating exceptional products was hardly a challenge.
At that time, concepts like “no additives” was beyond understanding, sensitive skin wasn’t yet a household concern, and “nourishing skin with oils” had yet to enter the public eye. We never clung to mere labels or buzzwords; instead, we quietly persisted in crafting items we would use ourselves, focusing on nuances no one else seemed to notice. Unexpectedly, this steadfast commitment earned us far greater recognition than we had imagined.
Yet throughout our experiments, something felt amiss, as though our work lacked a guiding spirit. We’d deploy dozens of ingredients merely to achieve two or three benefits, all the while drifting further from true refinement. Back then, we hadn’t realized that every component should resonate together like droplets in a waterfall—flowing in natural harmony, rather than piling up haphazardly.
Only by setting aside old preconceptions and accepting the vastness of the world—and our own small place in it—did we finally grasp the unity of heaven, earth, and humankind, the balance between body and mind. Our once-vaunted techniques now seemed almost trivial in the face of such profound interconnectedness. It was like standing speechless before an endless panorama. Three years passed in pondering this truth, until we understood that at this level of harmony, multiple benefits would naturally flow—like water revealing stones beneath, leaving no room for doubt or fear. And so, in 2015, our Deep Calls to Deep® formulation philosophy took shape.
For a decade, we have stood by our conviction to create works of art rather than mere products, seeking to glimpse the boundless world and the countless lives reflected in the ceaseless cascade of our waterfall.
