Also known as peach resin or “peach blossom tears,” Prunus Persica Resin is secreted from the bark of peach trees (or wild peaches) belonging to the Rosaceae family. Harvested in summer by making incisions in the bark to collect the exuded resin, traditional texts note, “The gum from peach trees most effectively nourishes body fluids and can treat hematuria, kidney stones, and skin depressions.” The Tang Ben Cao describes it as possessing a sweet-bitter, neutral nature, with the ability to nourish Yin and activate blood circulation to resolve stasis. Externally, its natural components—such as galactose, rhamnose, and α-glucuronic acid—offer moisturizing, skin-softening, and reparative benefits.
