Aloe Barbadensis

Among hundreds of aloe species, Aloe Barbadensis—often known as Curaçao Aloe—is the most widely utilized in food, medicine, and beauty products. With its large, thick leaves rich in gel, it contains an abundance of amino acids, vitamins, and minerals; its polysaccharides have molecular weights exceeding 450,000—more than 40 times those of common aloe. Known for its bitter, cold, and non-toxic nature, it enters the lung, stomach, and large intestine meridians. Aloe is prized for its ability to clear heat, relieve constipation, and eliminate pests. Although primarily applied topically, it may also be used internally when properly formulated. Its long history is a testament to its effectiveness in moisturizing, reducing inflammation, and soothing burns.
